Pepplus: For Study
Task
Design
Android
PepPlus is an educational app that allows students to improve their abilities by performing tests.
The goal of the project was to design and develop an Android app where students could take tests securely.
Expectation
Our main challenge is making a good platform that feels like a simple and easy-to-use testing app.
The testing panel should be better as compared with other platform.
Easy to analyse your abilities and availablity of study materials to help you improve.
The idea was to make a colorful interactive app where students would love to perform, test, and improve their abilities.
Design
Colors
The primary and secondary colors were chosen according to the logo designed for the app.
The neutral variant key color is used to derive medium emphasis text and icons, surface variants, and component outlines.

Development
App Structure
The language picked for development is Kotlin. built-in MVVM architecture with Android databinding features.
The libraries chosen for the tech stack were Retrofit for the API client, ObjectBox for the local cache, and Hilt for dependency injection.
Background Service
The most crucial part of the app was making a real-time testing panel, which should run properly in the background.
For this Android service to be made foreground, a timer was implemented in it, when users go out of the app screen, the test will get paused.
Screenshots
The responsive design of all the pages was completed according to material design. Have a look at some of the important sections in the app.
App navigations for attending ability-based tests on different subjects and topics.
Paper checkup result with solutions and multiple levels of report of the given test.
Subject-based monthly or yearly subscription model with Pep Coin features.
Thanks to the client, we finally designed and developed a beautiful Android app after nearly 6 months of work.
There were almost 120+ design screens which were implemented and tested properly.
